How to Disable IPv6 on Firefox
To disable IPv6 in Firefox, follow these steps:
Open Firefox: Launch the Firefox browser.
Access Advanced Configuration:
- Type about:config in the address bar and press Enter.
Accept the Warning: If you see a warning message ("Proceed with Caution"), click the button to proceed.
Search for IPv6 Settings:
- In the search bar at the top of the page, type network.dns.disableIPv6.
Toggle IPv6 Off:
- Double-click the network.dns.disableIPv6 entry, or click the toggle button on the right, to change its value to true.
Restart Firefox: Close and restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.
Once this is done, Firefox will no longer use IPv6 for DNS resolution and will rely solely on IPv4.
