How to changing a User's Password on Windows Server

If you are working on the server and have administrative rights, you can change the password through the 'Local Users and Groups' tool.

1. Open Local Users and Groups:

  • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
  • Type lusrmgr.msc and press Enter.

2. Select Users:

  • In the Local Users and Groups window, click on the Users folder.

3. Select the user:

  • Find the username for which you want to change the password, then right-click on the name and select Set Password....

4. Set the new password:

  • Follow the instructions to enter and confirm the new password.

 

Note:

  • Ensure that you have the necessary administrative rights to make these changes.
  • Changing the password may affect services or applications that are using the credentials of that account. Carefully check before making any changes.
